RULES,
REGULATIONS, ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS,
AND ENTRY FORM GUIDELINES
Entries
can be any genre or theme and must not exceed 15 minutes in length. Entries must be made
and produced
after January 1, 2010 (videos produced prior to this date will not be accepted).
Applicants
must enter the appropriate age category (Under 18 years old, or 18 and older). Entries
will be judged against each other within their age specific category.
NOTE: Profanity, sexual content and derogatory language towards any
group or specific individual is prohibited. Family-friendly films only.
Each
applicant may submit no more than two (2) works. If an applicant is submitting two entries, two
separate entry forms must be submitted. The entry form can be filled out

The
applicant must have prime artistic responsibility for the video submitted.
Roles considered to have prime artistic responsibility are director, producer,
writer, or editor.
Although
any shooting format may have been used to produce the original film or video,
the only acceptable submission formats for consideration are DVD or MiniDV
tape. Do not send original prints, stills, or other materials related to the
entry. Movietime Video and APK Studios will not be responsible for damage to videos
resulting from shipping, handling, judging, or screening.
Entries
will be judged by a panel selected by Movietime Video. Entries will be judged on Audience
Appeal, Story, Directing, and other categories. A sample judge’s form can be

A $100.00
cash award will be given for the First (1st) place entry in each category that
represents an overall outstanding achievement. A $50.00 cash award will be
given for the Runner-Up (2nd) place entry. The
decision of the judges is final.
The
deadline for receiving entries is October 10, 2011 (online applications should be
submitted in advance of the entry but video must include applicant’s name in order to
be matched to the entry form).
For
entrants under 18 years of age, completed Parental Permission forms with
parent or legal guardian’s signature must be included with the entry, or be postmarked by
October 10, 2011 and mailed or dropped off to:

By submitting
the entry form, the applicant (a) certifies that the exhibition of the
submitted entry will in no way violate any copyright laws or any other rights
of any person, film, or corporation and (b) accepts all responsibility relating
to - and indemnifies and holds harmless Movietime Video and APK Studios, and their representatives from
- any and all disputes and liabilities arising from any such claims by a third
party.

In addition to
agreeing that the material is clear of all copyright concerns, you are granting
The McMinnville Short Film Festival and Movietime Video the rights to show your film or
images from your film, in part or in their entirety, during the McMinnville Short Film Festival
and for use in promotional materials related to the contest in print, electronic, or digital form at any time,
before, during and after the contest.
In addition, unless
you specifically direct The McMinnville Short Film Festival not to do
so, by entering your work in the contest you are granting permission for your
film to be included as part of a compilation DVD showcasing contest entries
that will be produced and available to rent at no charge from Movietime Video.
If you do not wish your entry to be included in the compilation DVD, please
print the exclusion form here, fill in the name(s) of all filmmakers, sign, and include
with your video entry upon submission.
Applicants
who do not follow these rules and regulations will have their entry returned
and be disqualified from the competition.
Applicants
wishing to retrieve their copy can pick theirs up during store hours at Movietime Video
after November 1.
